Privacy
trademagic is operated by Alien Media Pty Ltd (ABN 38 634 304 840), an Australian company (we, us, or our). This policy explains how we handle your personal information, consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
We collect only what we need to operate the service: your name, email address, phone number, timezone, your notification and watch-list preferences, your API key usage, and technical information such as device, log, and usage data. We do not collect broker account details or trading activity: the service does not connect to broker accounts, and anything you trade happens outside it. Payment card details are handled by our payment processor and are not stored by us.
How we use it
We use your information to provide and secure the service, authenticate you (including two-factor authentication), deliver alerts you have opted into, process subscriptions and billing, provide support, meet our legal obligations, and improve the service.
How we handle your information
- API keys are stored as one-way hashes; the full key is shown to you once and cannot be recovered by us afterwards.
- We share personal information with service providers who help us run the service (for example our payment processor, our SMS verification provider, our email provider, our analytics provider, and our hosting provider) under confidentiality obligations and only as needed for them to provide their service to us.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share mobile information or SMS opt-in and consent data with any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
- Some providers may store or process data outside Australia (for example in the United States); we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with this policy.
- Backups are encrypted and stored off-site; the encryption recipient key is held separately from the live server.
Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors use the site: pages viewed, approximate location (country or city), device and browser type, how you arrived, and actions such as starting a sign-up, a checkout, or a contact message. Google Analytics sets cookies (_ga and _ga_*) to recognise a returning browser. We do not pass Google your name, email address, or phone number; we strip those and other identifying values from the page addresses we report; Google does not store your IP address with Analytics data; and we have switched off all Google advertising features, so the data is used to improve the service, never to advertise.
Where the law requires consent (the EEA, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland), Google Analytics runs without cookies and stores no identifier until you accept analytics cookies in the banner; elsewhere it runs by default and you can decline at any time. Your choice is remembered in your browser, and you can change it below on this page or by clearing site data. You can also block Google Analytics on every site with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Google processes this data in the United States; see Google's privacy policy for how Google handles it.
Apart from analytics, we use only strictly necessary storage: the session cookie that keeps you signed in and a security token for the dashboard. There are no advertising or social-media cookies.
SMS messaging
trademagic sends automated text messages to the number you provide for account security: verification and two-factor (login) codes. Signal alerts are delivered by email, not SMS. Message frequency depends on how often you sign in or verify. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe at any time, or HELP for help; note that two-factor codes are required to sign in, so opting out of SMS may prevent access until you contact us. Mobile opt-in and consent information is used solely to deliver these messages and is never shared with, or sold to, third parties.
Access, correction, and complaints
You can ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by contacting us. If you have a privacy complaint, contact us first and we will respond; if you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
